Landslides : Possible Causes and Terrible Consequences

Thursday 9th October, 2014

Here we are again!!!

It was a bit disappointing not having our Skype conversation last week. It seems we are having it this Thursday! At last!

I was also disappointed because your homework wasn’t very good, except David’s! You didn’t make the least of the efforts! Come on guys!!! You are grown –ups!! I’m sure you can think of questions about the culture or lifestyles of a country and not only ask: “What’s your favourite music? Do you have What’sApp?
Anyway, let’s see what the future holds…

In class, we rehearsed (practised) your dialogues and made a list of possible questions to ask about the country. They referred to typical food, languages, religions, traditions, landmarks …

After that, we watched a video on “Landslides” in which we could see the devastating effects of this natural disaster. Then we had a series of comprehension questions in a quiz format. We answered the quiz in teams.

For homework, you have to play the video again and focus on the questions: “odd one out; which word is different”. Write down these words (there are about 28) and look up the meaning of the ones you don’t know. You’ll get 3 points for doing homework.

Our competition was related to the quiz. This is your score, plus 2 points for homework except to those who didn’t do it!

See you on Thursday!

Remember: be punctual, be polite and get your questions ready !!!
